"Welcome to our Gardens"
We are located in south central Mississippi within a mile of the Pearl River, which is the largest river in our state.
We are on the west side, which is the flat land side. In our area the east side of the river is hills.
My son Randy and I have been hybridizing for about nine years. We have hybridized for several different forms in the past.
We are currently concentrating on “Blue Tones”, green edges, sharks teeth and tentacles, eyes and edges, and patterned eyes.
In 2004, the seedling T04-19 bloomed and it was later registered as “Bluegrass Memories”. This foundation plant ended up
being more than we had ever hoped for. It started the
blue eyes and blue eye and edge program. We are getting a lot of different shades of blue in the eye and on the edges.
“Bluegrass Memories” is now being used in many of the top hybridizing programs in the U.S. and Canada.
We built a 26’ X 48’ greenhouse in the winter of 2008. This enabled us to set more seed. We harvested over 6,200 seed in 2009 and planted ALL of them. This was quite a chore for two people, Randy having a full time job and me having some other interests, such as attending Bluegrass festivals and Mississippi State football games. Well in 2010 we harvested in excess of 15,000 and will probably plant around 3,000 of these seed. We will list “SEED FOR SALE” many with BLUE EYED genetics on both sides.
Sandra has already gained a wide reputation with her Daylily plates and vases. These will also be featured.
Make plans to visit us, but be sure to call because sometimes we are out of pocket.
